Service building with toilets and showers are located closeby, and on the evenings you can visit the public saunas. After sauna, relax and cool down on your own small terrace.

Island of historical Villas
For centuries people have gathered to this island to spend time with their loved ones.
A tradition which we still today treasure here in Nallikari.
Already in the 19th century, the lushly quiet location made wealthy merchants haunt villas in the area. Villas were the center of social and cultural life during the summer, as was the trend back then. People gathered together, had fun and enjoyed their time.
Today these historical Villas are privately owned, and they are part of the important cultural environment. You can spot and admire them along the outdoor routes but please respect the residents' privacy.
Nature Trails
Not far from the beach you will find refreshing nature trails with wonderful landscapes. These trails take you to the middle of urban nature and vegetation zones. The area is also famous for thousands of birds nesting and resting.
Total length of the Hietasaari trails is approximately five kilometres and they are accessible by wheelchair or baby carriages. You can also cycle on most of the trails and explore them with fatbikes e.g.!

Little ones enjoy the playgrounds on the Holiday Village area or by the beach. The gently deepening beach is great for the whole family! Prepare to spend a whole day in Vauhtipuisto, which is recommended especially for smaller kids. The amusement park is located only 1,5km from the Holiday village. Catch a lift from the city train Kompiainen, which drives from the beach to Vauhtipuisto, and then all the way to the city center.
Youngsters
Youngsters will spend their day playing volleyball, minigolf and trying other activities at the beach. Rental bikes are good option to cruise in style to lively city streets of Oulu or visit the new trendy waterpark located at Linnasaari.
Activities for the taste of adults
Grown ups’ senses are indulged with long walks around the island, and tasty long dinners in the sea views. When it start to feel like walls closing in, small escape to Oulu center is easy to arrange. Or how about guided activities with the local operators? There are tours from fishing to kayaking and fat biking.
